Define who is trapped in it
-
Simply put, People who start earning from God
-
Paul said who bewitch you, you foolish Galatians that you started in the Spirit and now can be perfected in the flesh… in other words started in Grace and now bewitched into works
-
-
People who aren’t secure in Gods Love and
-
People who aren’t secure in Gods salvation (Christ work)
A complete and balanced and healthy Christian person will have their armour on
We can find out a lot about your spiritual life by your spiritual armour… what you are not wearing….
Regarding…. The helmet of salvation,
· Do you know if you are saved?
1. If you don’t wear the helmet of salvation over your mind then you will be attacked in the mind,
2. The enemy attacks us there with judgement, sincerity and condemnation
Regarding the breast plate of righteousness
· Do you know if you are righteousness?
1. If your not wearing the breastplate of righteousness you will be attacked in the heart,
2. with guilty conscience, religion or lawlessness
Here is it put simply…
You can’t do the Christian works until you know that you are saved, and righteous
-
Because if you don’t know you’re saved you will always be trying to get saved,
-
If you don’t know you are righteous you will be always be trying to get righteous.
-
All your works and your love will have a tainted portion,
-
tainted with trying to gain qualification,
-
trying to earn,
-
plenty of self righteousness, plenty of self unrighteousness,
-
plenty of repentance but not much freedom
-
trying to keep your salvation
Let me spell it out for you…
-
If you don’t know you are saved or righteous then you are being religious
-
If you don’t know whether your right with God you’re religious
-
You say you want to please God but why? If you don’t know you’re saved then your pleasing is simply religion… there is pleasing out of love and there’s pleasing out of earning,
-
If I please my wife out of my love for her, then that is beautiful, but if I please my wife out of earning anything then that is just sales… its just earning, corrupt at the core, not love but something masquerading as love.
