Just a Thought

What would happen if the bird flu hit this winter?

Hundreds of millions of people dying worldwide…It’s everywhere…, and people you know and care about have died…Society’s structure has broken down…It was just too big, too much for the authorities to cope with…There is no law…The riots and lootings are over…Supermarket shelves are empty…No companies are supplying food to supermarkets because no one goes to work any more…Everyone is hiding in their homes, cold and hungry. There is no food, electricity or water…People are terrified, starving, smells are coming from all the dead in houses around you…The dead lie in the street and no one buries them… (this is what history tells us it was like in the other flu pandemics)

Would we have the faith for ourselves and our families, what for? for food, protection? what about for others? Would we be like everyone else and hide in our homes? Fearful of the virus? Fearful of desperate people? Would we step out or keep meeting like the churches in the Spanish flu? but they all died in presumption (hope).

Or would we be the light of the world, the manifest sons of God on the earth; going about loving people, sharing our faith, healing the sick and giving Glory to God, would it be our finest hour or our weakest moment?

John G Lake, when ministering to those with highly infectious tuberculosis, created so much interest from the professional fraternity that they came from all over to discover why he was not harmed by the deadly Tuberculosis.

He instructed them get some of the tuberculosis scum off a dead person and put it on his hand, then they looked under the microscope and saw it died instantly, how come??? he said “this is the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ”.

Will we be like this or be like mere men hiding in the corner?

Will we be like the foolish virgins that never prepared, and when the time came they never had the goods, it takes time to get oil, just as it takes time to get your head/faith right.

Lets be all God dreamed we would be… when the son of man returns will he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:8)

Well I hope so!

He’s looking for it in you and me!

(By January of 1910, he was headed back to Africa in the midst of a raging plague there. He was among few who ministered to the sick and dying. He proved to local physicians that the germs would not live on his body due to the Holy Spirit alive in Him. He actually verified this under a microscope showing that the germs died upon contact with his body. Those who witnessed the experiment stood in amazement as Lake gave glory to God explaining that: “It is the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. I believe that just as long as I keep my soul in contact with the living God so that His Spirit is flowing into my soul and body, that no germ will ever attach itself to me, for the Spirit of God will kill it.”)
