Is sickness from God or the devil?
The church is very confused in it’s opinion when it comes to this subject, God says in some places that he will cast a person into a sick bed, does this mean he puts sickness on people? Is God Ying and Yang?
Here’s a few scriptures to look at.
16 Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?” (Luke 13:16)
Devil bound her
22 Then one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, was brought to him and he healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. (Matt 12:22)

17 One of the multitude answered, “Teacher, I brought to you my son, who has a mute spirit;
18 and wherever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams at the mouth, and grinds his teeth, and wastes away. I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they weren’t able.”
19 He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”
20 They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.
21 He asked his father, “How long has it been since this has come to him?” He said, “From childhood.
22 Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”
23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
24 Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”
25 When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”
26 Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.
Demon again
7And the Satan went out from before the Lord, and sent on Job an evil disease covering his skin from his feet to the top of his head (Job 2:7)
Why was Satan allowed in God’s presence? Are they in this together? What gives him access to God’s throne?
38 even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. (Acts 10:38)
Does God oppress some and the devil oppress others. Did God tell the devil to oppress them? Is God divided against himself as it says God was with Jesus destroying the oppression of the Devil.
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8)
So sin is of the devil, and Jesus came to destroy his works.
56 For the Son of Man didn’t come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them.” (Luke 9:56)
Why is it all called the devil works?…
Jesus called the sin, temptation, curse, sickness and oppression “the devil’s works”. God is in the light, the devil is in the shadows, everything to do with these things is called from the kingdom of darkness. From the fall of man to the smallest sin, its all the devils domain, works and influence…
And what about earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, floods, and the seals in Revelation that bring about the great tribulation… aren’t they God’s doing?
How come God proclaims, releases and enforces some of these things?
The rules of life were set…
I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that you may live, you and your seed;
God put before us: Life and death, blessings and curses, but then shows His will by saying “choose life”. He has given us free will, but as part of the construct of this world He has put natural laws of judgement in place. It’s not God’s perfect will for you to have curses and death – but these are the rules – The soul that sins shall die! (The Law of Sin and Death)
God is not ying and yang the devil is, God is light and in him is no darkness, God gives and adds no sorrow, the devil can not give without adding sorrow.
So God put man here with the kingdom of light and the darkness both present, both fighting for mans soul. God’s is letting the lie of Satan run it course then he will do away with him for good.
God’s grace is in the light, the devils legal right to curse is in the darkness. God says stay in light and you will live in my blessing, my abundant life.
God doesn’t curse people…
…people curse themselves, by breaking the rules of life. God might proclaim the judgement but He didn’t curse them. Like Adam and Eve, He blessed them but they broke the rules and the curse came into play. He might proclaimed it was from Him but really it was from the person who broke the rules of life.
The other way people get cursed is because they are open to the thief, then the thief (not legally) robs, kills or destroyed. How are we open? Because our faith is not complete.
Devil wants you cursed…
The devil brings curse or death either by legal entry (rules of life) or stealing from you, therefore sickness, disease, oppression, in fact every poverty in either your spirit, soul, body, heart or mind, or even resource is of the devil.
So everything that takes you away from the blessing of God, which causes you to be cursed, is of the devil.
God wants you blessed…
God put the choice before us, but wants you to live in the abundant life… we get curses and death by choosing wrong. But God says return to me and I will heal you. Bible says, “He who pulls down a hedge (of protection) he will be bitten by a serpent”. God hates the curse and death and wants his people to be free from it. He wants you to have life in abundance.
The bigger picture is the devil had everyone pinned under the law of sin and death in Adam, God had His rescue plan, He will condemn sin in (Adam) the flesh and make a new spiritual Man in Christ.
He gave the answer to being blessed…
This is the good news of the gospel… In Christ we are set free from the law of sin and death. (Rom 8:2) In Adam sin entered and we all died, in Christ life enters and we all live. God’s answer is Jesus, who came to make us whole as He is whole. Every good and perfect gift comes from God.
The rules of the blessing of Christ are not natural but spiritual, the blessing is to whosoever repents and believes. The blessing is by faith, everything in Christ is by faith in Christ. It’s a faith covenant not a works covenant. No faith, no blessing! (Rom 5:2)

So blessing is from God and he adds no sorrow!

Sickness is from the devil; who is trying to rob you of God’s blessing.
Everywhere you’re not like Jesus, your still functioning under the law of sin and death.. get the death off you!
Like the song says “You found me in a shallow grave, you called me out from beneath it all” (Devotion, New Boys)
Therefore all sickness comes from the devil, Jesus said repent (so the devil’s legal rights are broken) and believe, so you can step into God’s abundant life.rights are broken) and believe, so you can step into God’s abundant life.
